Hygiene Appointments
In addition to a thorough cleaning, a typical hour-long hygiene appointment at iSmile includes a comprehensive examination of your teeth and gums and recording the presence of diseases or abnormalities. Your hygienist will remove calculus, stains and plaque from your teeth and perform root planing, take x-rays, and apply cavity-preventive agents as needed. She will also show you how to develop and maintain good oral health habits.
Although hygienists may not diagnose diseases, they can prepare clinical and laboratory diagnostic tests for your dentist to interpret. Hygienists will sometime assist your dentist during treatment.
